Who Is Jesus?

To know Jesus is to have a relationship with Him. Being a Christian is more than knowing about Jesus; being a Christian is knowing Him personally. Jesus spoke of the need to know the Savior when He prayed, “This is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent” (John 17:3).

The bible says that, “Indeed, there is no one on earth who is righteous, no one who does what is right and never sins” (Ecclesiastes 7:20). After Adam and Eve sinned at the beginning of creation, the world became a sinful place. All the people of earth were sinful in the sight of God and were deserving of death because of their sin; the bible tells us that, “The wages of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23). The world was in need of a savior and that is why Jesus came, for it was God’s will that none should perish, but that all should have eternal life (2 Peter 3:9).

Jesus was sent by God the Father (John 3:16) in order that we could be restored unto Him by the sacrifice of Jesus His Son. He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). Jesus bled and died on the cross and was buried in a tomb, but three days later He rose victorious over sin and death. Jesus lived a perfect and blameless life, His blood was pure and without sin and because of that, it has the power to redeem us and forgive us of all sin (Ephesians 1:7).

God loves you more than you will ever know, and because of the tremendous and perfect work of Christ on the cross, you today can be forgiven of all sin and receive eternal life. The bible says there is a place called heaven and a place called hell. Hell is a place of eternal separation from God and a place of eternal punishment; but you don’t have to go there. The bible tells us, “If you confess Jesus Christ as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, then you shall be saved” (Romans 10:9). It is important to understand, Jesus Christ is the only way to the Father and to eternal salvation (John 14:6).

How Do I Receive Jesus?

If you want to make Jesus Christ the Lord of your life today and receive His gift of salvation, pray the following prayer:

“Lord Jesus, I come to you today because I know there is sin in my life and I know i’ve done wrong. I know that I am unable to save myself and that I am in need of a Savior. I believe that you died for me and that you rose again. I ask today, that you wash me in your blood and cleanse me of all sin. I confess you as the Lord of my life and choose to follow you. By faith right now, I receive eternal life. Thank you Jesus, amen!"
